How do I apply for a grant?

To apply for the AIG, follow these steps:

1. Print and fill out an AIG application form.
2. If you are registered in Ontario, also print the Ontario AIG Application Guide and the Ontario Application Checklist.
3. If you are registered in Nova Scotia, please refer to the Apprenticeship Training and Skill Development Division of the Department of Labour and Workforce Development Web site and print the release of information form, which you must complete and submit with your application.
Provide supporting documentation that shows proof of registration. Proof of registration is defined by the province or territory in which you are registered as an apprentice.
Provide supporting documentation that demonstrates you have completed Year (Level) One or Year (Level) Two.
Submit your application form and supporting documents to Service Canada. Service Canada will determine whether or not you are eligible for the AIG.
